So after lunch, I met up with my friend, Emily, who happened to be in the city that day! I had 2 hours to kill before dinner with my dad. If you ask me, 2 hours is not enough time to digest food and be hungry again, but I just ate again anyway. AND got pinkberry after we saw a broadway play. Oh man. Nausea at its finest. But it was a fun day! Now time to run it off!! xoxoxo

NEW YORK CITY EXTRAVAGANZA
I gained about 17 pounds yesterday. I don't want to talk about it. I went to the city with my mom to eat at Bar Americain, one of Bobby Flay's restaurants. Prettyy good if you ask me! Bobby obviously wasn't there. He was probably whipping up something on the set of Iron Chef or maybe he just knew I was coming and didn't want to see me. Ya never know.

OATMEAL CRAISIN COOKIES
So I just used the oatmeal raisin recipe on the underside of the Quaker oats top. You really can't mess it up. They turn out amazing every time. I'm not a huge fan of raisins, so I threw in craisins. I usually throw in chocolate chips, but not this time!
You'll be glad to know a new bag of sugar has been purchased since the ant fiasco and we are now storing it in the refrigerator for the time being. I better watch out for all my other food items. Who knows what insects/animals are going to come out of the cracks because of Irene!? I have a feeling we will find Moe Jr, my brother's snake that escaped 10 years ago. Eek! xoxo

busy day!!
To make up for lost time, I made 3 different items. That's right, you heard me, THREE!!!
I started the day off by making some good old banana bread. We had 3 very ripe bananas just sitting in the kitchen, so why not? The only problem was when I went to get the cup of sugar I needed, I discovered an ANT INFESTATION. EWWWWWWW. It was so disgusting. There were about a thousand ants in our sugar container. I may or may not have left the sugar open the last time I used it....oops. But the banana bread turned out ok. Kind of salty, which was weird. And it was a different color than usual because I couldn't use the normal sugar.
Next up, was a greek pasta salad. I found the recipe in the New York Times, or I guess my mom did. My friend, Georgie, was kind enough to help me today. And she also went wild with the photography. I'm not going to put up all the pictures she took because it's a but insane, but I'll show ya the best of the best. The pasta salad turned out fab. Loved the olives and feta. Really added a Grecian touch.
And last but certainly not least, I made a grilled corn salad. I kind of made up my own recipe, being the chef that I am and all. It was fun to grill the corn, even though it burned my finger :( I added avocado, black beans, basil, and red onion to it. And presto! I had a perfect corn salad.
Yum yum yum! It was a busy, but productive day! xoxox

crzyCREPES
After a 4 hour long doctor's appointment and some new running shoe inserts, I was starving. So my mom and I decided to try a crepe place in Greenwich called Meli-Melo. Let me tell you, I have a whole new respect for the people that make those things. I got a veggie crepe for my dinner and then we split a nutella crepe for dessert. I was haunted a little by my nutella ice cream disaster while feasting, but it did not stop me from eating the whole thing.
Holy moly! I was in crepe heaven. If I ever get to actually be good at cooking (which, believe me, I am no where near), I would love to attempt to make these. You have to have the perfect batter, the perfect heat of the pan, and a lot of patience! It might also help to be of French descent, which I am! Bonjour!
Move over blizzards, I have found my new guilty pleasure. (Although it may be hard to resist blizzards when the darn DQ fan club sends me buy one get one free coupons every month!!) xoxo

A Little Taste of Rome
I made something tonight! However, I took no pictures and no recipe was involved. Sorry bout it. It was cheesy eggs with basil. Sounds weird, but was actually surprisingly good.
I am currently sitting with my mom as she reads me facts about Rome. It may or may not be going in one ear and out the other (sorry, mom). It's hard to listen for over an hour! The only thing I'm dreaming about while she talks is the endless amount of gelato I'll be eating. I better be walking enough to burn that off!! Keep your fingers crossed, folks! xox
